Actors Theatre of Indiana Co-founder, Cynthia Collins


Cynthia Collins received her BFA in Theatre from Ohio University. A proud member of Actors Equity Association since 1991, her Off-Broadway credits include: Fifty Million Frenchmen, Face The Music, Jubilee, That’s The Ticket with Tony Award winner George S. Irving (Musicals Tonight Series); Valentino,The Musicalat the Judith Anderson Theatre; Lone Star Cafe at The Puerto Rican Traveling Theatre and Gigi at Equity Library Theatre directed by Gerard Alessandrini, creator of the famed Forbidden Broadway. Cindy has toured Nationally in Singin’ In The Rain and internationally in My Fair Lady as well as multiple Cruise Line appearances. Regionally her credits include: Anybodys in West Side Story (St. Louis MUNY, Theatrefest, The Strand); Agnes in On The Twentieth Century (Goodspeed Opera House);Millie in Good News, Flossie in On The Town, and Perkins in Annie, (North Shore Music Theatre); Kristine in A Chorus Line and Edith in The Pirates Of Penzance (Burt Reynolds/Jupiter Theatre); Miss Hannigan in Annie (Beef & Boards Dinner Theatre); Mrs. Hopkins in My Fair Lady (Westchester Broadway Theatre); Hymen in As You Like It (N.J. As a former member of SAG, her television/film credits include: Law & Order, Law & Order SVU, Ed, Sex And The City, OZ, Die Hard III, Sabrina, Maid in Manhatten, The Thomas Crown Affair, Hide & Seek, Zoolander…  She has had the pleasure of working with such artists as Ben Vereen, Sandy Duncan, Claude Aikins, Comden & Green, Cy Coleman, Avery Schrieber, Joel Grey, Cyndi Lauper, Fred Waring and his famous Pennsylvanians, Chita Rivera, Sutton Foster, Diane Rehm (NPR ‘s The Diane Rehm Show)

In New York City she was the choreographer to director Thomas Mills at AMDA (American Music and Dramatic Academy), an intensive two-year program preparing young performers for the professional Theatre.

As Co-Founder and Associate Artistic Director of Actors Theatre of Indiana, she has performed in and or choreographed My Way: A Musical Tribute to Frank Sinatra, Cole: The Words & Music of Cole Porter, And The World Goes ‘Round, Sisters of Swing:The Story of the Andrews Sisters, The Taffetas, Perfect Wedding, Forbidden Broadway, Nunsense, A Grand Night for Singing, CHICAGO, The Musical of Musicals, the Musical, Always Patsy Cline, My Fair Lady, Xanadu, The Fantasticks, Sweeney Todd…plus many more.

A native of Livingston, N.J. and long time resident of New York City, Cindy currently resides in Carmel, IN. She studied at the N.J. School of Ballet with Jay Norman (original Broadway cast and Motion Picture cast member of West Side Story). ccollins@atistage.org
